About Gurkha Movers

The name Gurkha is more than just a title—it’s a legacy. It represents courage, resilience, loyalty, and an unwavering dedication to service. These values run deep in my family’s history. Many of our loved ones—including my uncles, cousins, and both of my sisters’ husbands—have proudly served in the British Army as Gurkhas. Their stories of strength and sacrifice have shaped who we are and how we live our lives.

Our journey begins in Bima, a small village in Myagdi, Nepal. My sisters came to the UK in 2001, followed by my wife in 2005. I joined them in 2011. Like many immigrant families, we started with humble beginnings, but we carried with us a strong work ethic and a determination to build something meaningful.
In 2020, we launched our first venture, a domestic cleaning company. It was honest work, built on trust and consistency. One day, a regular client asked if we could help with her house move. She trusted us in her home and believed in our integrity. We rented a van, rolled up our sleeves, and helped her move. That simple act changed everything.

We quickly realised it wasn’t just about moving boxes. It was about being part of someone’s life transition—helping them through a personal, emotional, and often stressful journey. From that spark, Gurkha Movers was born in 2023. What started with one sprinter van has grown into a trusted removals and storage business. Together with my brothers and our close-knit team, we bring over 35 years of combined experience in removals. We’ve completed more than 200 moves, travelled over 100,000 miles, and now operate storage facilities with a capacity of over 20,000 cubic feet.

But our story isn’t just about numbers. It’s about people, helping families, individuals, and businesses feel supported, seen, and secure during life’s big changes.
